Ivan Holmes -- Once Again -- Takes down a Reno Major
Does Ivan Holmes ever enter a major tourney in Reno without winning it? Holmes, who has won Pot of Gold tourney titles at the Grand Sierra in Reno, took down the WPT Regional title on Aug. 24 at the Atlantis, taking home a $44,000 first prize.
Full results are not available right now, as we cannot locate any information having been provided by the WPT, and there is nothing posted on the Atlantis site either .

Atlantis Reno CEO Comes out
Against Online Gaming
In an interview for, Atlantis Casino Resort Spa CEO John Farahi says he is "1,000 percent" behind Las Vegas Sands' CEO Sheldon Adelson's call for a Federal ban on online gaming, including poker.

“Morally and for the health of our society, having gaming in people’s homes is not good,” Farahi said to Jon Ralston in an article posted Tuesday afternoon to

Adelson has for some time now been the biggest name in talks against seeing online poker or online gaming receive Federal approval. Farahi, CEO of Monarch Casinos and Resort Inc. -- an entity that owns both the Atlantis in Reno and Monarch Black Hawk Casino in Colorado -- publicly joined Aldeosn's side of that debate Tuesday.

Just down the street from the Atlantis, the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino in Reno has a partnership agreement with Ultimate Poker, one of three legal online poker gaming sites in Nevada.
